Dear Valued Y Member,
We deeply appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate the challenging circumstances related to the Coronavirus. We are all operating in unknown territory right now, and we are working as quickly as we can to keep you updated and address your questions.
At Texas County Family YMCA, everything we do is guided by our commitment to support our community, and this is even more critical now. When you belong to the Y, you are not only a member of a health and wellness facility, you are a member of an organization dedicated to strengthening our community. In difficult times, the Y pivots in response to community needs, and finds ways to use our resources to offer solutions - and you can help.
Due to the recent cases found in the area and the executive order and proclamation from the state government as well as the local government, our closure will be extended until April 30th.
Stay with Us - Your YMCA Membership Choice
Your membership helps support our efforts to meet the critical needs in our community during this challenging time. Examples of how the Y is helping include critical care for children of essential employees on the front lines, child nutrition for the hungry, and hosting blood drives for the community. You can see the details of our community programming down below in the How You Can Help section. #StayWithUs
Please tell us by Tuesday, April 7th, how you would like us to handle your YMCA membership fees. You can email your preference to email@example.com or call the YMCA at 580-468-9622 Monday - Friday from 9 am - 12 pm and then 1 pm - 6 pm. There are several options for you to consider:
1. We respectfully ask that you consider keeping your membership active during this time so that we can remain fully focused on our efforts to help our community stay strong in spirit, mind and body. Our initiatives to help our community during this time are outlined below. Should you choose to keep your membership active, please know how deeply grateful we are for your generosity. If you continue your membership now, but wish to put it on hold at a later date, you can simply contact the Y via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Y during the designated times listed above.
2. We also understand that you may have financial obligations; and naturally, we will place your membership on hold at no cost during this time should you wish to do so. As soon as our YMCA reopens, your membership will automatically resume. Of course, no Joining Fee would be required. Please be sure to indicate your choice via email or by contacting the Y during the designated hours by April 7th, otherwise, your account will be charged.
Our next membership draft will take place on April 15th. If your membership is drafted by payroll deduct, and you would like to take advantage of one of these options, please contact the YMCA via email or call the Y during the designated call times at 580-468-9622. Going forward, draft dates will remain unchanged and we will handle your membership fees according to your selection.
How You Can Help
It goes without saying that the Coronavirus has created enormous uncertainty. However, how we respond is within our control. As soon as we realized the severity of the situation, we mobilized to explore ways the Y could help our community. You play a vital role in helping us deploy these services and serve our community by CONTINUING your membership.
Emergency Childcare - We have been supporting our community by serving families who are first responders, medical professionals, government officials, food supply industry, essential personnel, and all of those who must continue their work during this challenging time.
Kid's Cafe Food Program - In partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the YMCA serves nutritious meals to any child under 18 from 3:15 pm - 5:15 pm Monday - Friday.
Red Cross Blood Drives - The American Red Cross has an ongoing critical need due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The YMCA will work with the American Red Cross to provide community blood drives at the Y to prevent the shortage of blood during this time. Please look out for our blood drive dates.
Virtual Group Exercise Classes - We have rolled out resources to keep our members and participants safely connected, active and healthy during this time in spirit, mind and body. A selection of virtual group exercise classes is available here through MOSSA Move. You can sign up for a 60 day FREE trial.
Daily Inspiration - We will offer daily inspirational messages that include actions you can take to cope during this time on our Facebook page and Instagram page
We hope you are as excited about this community response assistance as we are! This is how the Y steps up to help, and we hope you will join us to keep our community strong. You can also help the YMCA during this time by making a donation to our Annual Campaign which helps us continue to serve the community the best way possible by clicking here. We invite you to support each other and your community, and we offer our deepest thanks for your gift. Together, we will come through this stronger than ever.
Remember that you can contact the YMCA via email or by telephone Monday - Friday from 9 am - 12 pm and then 1 pm - 6 pm. We wish you and your family good health. Thank you for being a Texas County Family YMCA member. #StayWithUs
